I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I am qualified to bill the CPT codes listed below. The CPT table provides the basic reimbursement rate for each service listed. Some insurance rates will vary due to co-pay requirement by the insurance company. As of 1/1/2022, Psychological Services was expanded to include those provided by licensed LPC, LCSW and LMFT providers in both Managed Care (CMO) and fee-for- service Medicaid. Prior to the change, only LCSW was allowed to bill mental health services to consumers with Medicaid Insurance. The average salary for a LPC in Georgia is $97, 000.00 per year ($46.63 per hour) Entry level LPC start at $68, 297.00 yearly. These codes listed below are the codes utilized in my private practice.
An additional area I would like to strengthen for payment are services geared to Substance Abuse Counseling. Substance Counseling is bill not as a separate component than regular psychotherapy as well as the same for group therapy. The rate is the same for any type of therapy or group session. In Georgia, many LPCs’ in private practice have developed contracts and services with Department of Family and Children Services, Mental Health Agencies, Hospitals, and Schools. This is a concept I have utilized to develop additional streams of revenue for my private practice.
